Known for his creative kicking game, the fly half has been a regular starter for ulster in the no10 shirt since he joined in 2018. A native of Bath, but Irish qualified thanks to his paternal grandfather, Burns made his debut for Gloucester as a 17-year-old. Ulster signed Burns from Gloucester and he went on to cement his position in the side, forming an impressive partnership with scrum half John Cooney. Burns was rewarded for his performances with an Ireland call-up, playing an important role in the 2020 Autumn Internationals.
