The U14 Cup has been renamed after Billy Latimer.
Billy would have been known to many throughout Ulster Rugby Circles.
Firstly, as a player, he played for Cooke RFC, back in the days when the club was at Galwally, and while working in Newry he was also affiliated Newry RFC.
Then as an administrator. His greatest contribution to Rugby in the Province was his commitment to Ulster Youth Rugby. Serving from just after its inception right up to date, probably nearly as long as his great friend and colleague Towy Neale.
He had many roles:
- Youth Rep for CIYMS
- Youth Rep and Coach for Cooke
- Youth League Coordinator
- Member of the Competition Management Committee (CMC)
- Member of the Youth Competition Committee (YCC)
- Ulster U18 Manager 2016-17
Billy regularly travelled across the province, attending matches and was renowned for his diligent checking of team sheets and registration cards.
