In phase one of the project, Ulster Rugby  and WWPIS will work together to deliver several specifically targeted and designed workshops over the next year in the performance environment for both parents and coaches.

Gordon MacLelland, CEO of Working with Parents in Sport, said: “I am extremely excited to be working alongside Ulster Rugby to help support them in creating the best possible environment for young players.

“Everyone has a role to play in this and we are looking forward to working with and learning from key stakeholders to ensure we create the most supportive programmes possible.”

Ulster Rugby’s Women and Girls’ Development Manager, Mollie Davies added, “We are very pleased to add Working with Parents in Sport as part of our holistic approach to creating a rounded athlete within our sport. The partnership with WWPIS, will enable us to help equip parents to support their child as they enter and progress through Ulster Rugby’s pathways. Parents play an integral role in a young athlete’s journey, and the workshops will aid them in navigating the highs and lows that come with high performance sport.”

We are also delighted to offer a free Active Coach Badge webinar on the 6 December, delivered by Gordon MacLelland. This webinar explores the ways coaches can create positive relationships with Parents. To sign up, click here.
