A strong, dynamic performer. A former three-time Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup winner with RBAI, Hume’s first year in the Ulster Academy was plagued by injury. However, an impressive first start in the away win over Benetton in November proved to be the springboard for a breakout year. In the summer of 2019, the young centre was awarded with a development contract and has since cemented his place in the Ulster senior squad. In an outstanding season, Hume was named in the 2021-22 URC Dream team as well as winning the Ulster Player of the Year award and Rugby Writer's Player of the Year. Hume's impressive performances in the centre position has seen call ups to the senior Ireland set-up.
