Tom Stewart

Hooker

Biography

Hooker Tom Stewart has made a blistering start to his senior Ulster career. He made an immediate impression from his debut against Connacht, scoring a try and winning the man of the match award. Tom holds the record for the most tries ever scored in a URC season, after scoring 16 tries last season in the league. The hooker is a master at scoring from lineout mauls and is a top finisher in the opposition 22. The Belfast man had a stellar schools’ rugby career, with Belfast Royal Academy and he was crowned Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Player of the Year in 2019. Stewart also played his part for Ireland in the 2020 Under-20 Six Nations before the tournament was called-off as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stewart recently committed his future to Ulster with a contract keeping him at the province until 2026. Stewart was rewarded for his rapid progress with a call-up to the senior Ireland 2023 Six Nations squad and Rugby World Cup training squad. He made his international debut against Italy in August.
