Evaluating

Evaluating

The content of this page is primarily for the use of members of the Ulster Society of Rugby Football Referees (USRFR: The Society). This area relates to the administration and support for society members whilst involved in assessing referee performance.

The society has a robust quality assurance element with the mandatory evaluation of all active referees.

Competence to officiate is adjudged solely on evidence based evaluation.

It is this system which allows the Society to operate a non-discriminatory practice within its membership as mandated by the membership.

Mentoring/Coaching Reports – When you upload a coaching or mentoring report to Gainline, click SAVE DRAFT. Then notify the coordinator by email that you have uploaded a report for review and publication. The only time you will need to use the retract button is if you press PUBLISH in error.

Evaluations – When you are in the process of completing an evaluation, you can click SAVE DRAFT as often as you like. This will save your progress and allow you to pick up from where you left off if interrupted. When you have finalised the report, click SAVE DRAFT and notify the relevant coordinator. The only time you will need to use the retract button is if you press PUBLISH in error.

An important part of all referees’ personal development is a Self Assessment process. A suggested template to assist our members in formalising this process can be found here:
