I think after the disappointing end to our AIL play-off campaign and our defeat in the Junior Cup final, there’s a different feeling heading in to this one. It’s almost a feeling of redemption to end our successful season on a high.

Our fans have been amazing all year they have really helped drive us on and I’m sure they will continue to do so moving forward in to the cup final and whatever else is in store for the future of Dromore. My message is keep backing us like you have done for so long as we are a club that has big aspirations.

It’s been long overdue for Dromore to bring home the Towns Cup, the club was in the final not too long ago and came out second best, but this time round we want to replicate those that last won it in a Dromore jersey all them years ago and bring it home!

It’s always an honour to lead any team into a final, especially at the home of Ulster Rugby!

At the start of this season, one of our main goals as a team was to make the Towns’ Cup final, and we’ve now put ourselves within reaching distance of that goal.

As one of the older heads on the team, I am incredibly proud to Captain the rest of these men today and hopefully we bring some silverware back to Ballymacarn Park!

Our semi-final away to Enniskillen was definitely the most memorable match in our Towns Cup journey. We went down there as the underdogs, with most people writing us off, but this only added fuel to the fire! We started strong, taking Enniskillen by surprise and giving us a good foothold in the game. Enniskillen fought their way back into the match leaving it very tightly contested going into the final 10mins. With minutes left to play, we scored a converted try and all that was left to do was see out the game.

If there’s one thing that we as a team have been good at this year, it’s putting up a fight and never lying down until the final whistle. The learnings and experience the younger lads got out of that game will be invaluable going into the final today and we will have to bring our ‘A’ game against a Dromore squad who have been going well this year!
