Bangor RFC have joined a select group of approximately 90 sports clubs across Northern Ireland who have been awarded the prestigious Clubmark NI accreditation.
Clubmark NI is Northern Ireland’s quality standard for sports clubs and is managed by Sport NI, who work with a range of governing bodies local authorities to deliver this sports club accreditation programme. The programme aims to identify, develop, accredit and recognise high quality sports clubs and the contribution that they make to the development of sport in Northern Ireland.
As part of a thorough evaluation process to gain Clubmark NI accreditation, clubs are required to evidence compliance with the core Clubmark NI criteria and sport specific criteria.
An accredited club is recognised as a safe, regarding and quality environment for participants of all ages to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives. The accreditation is based on five key areas each of which must be supported by specific evidence collected by the club. The five key areas are: effective club management, community engagement, quality coaching and competition, creating a safe environment, and safeguarding members.
