Bank of Ireland today announced a five-year extension of its sponsorship of Ulster Rugby to run until 2028. The Bank has a long association with the province dating back to 1997, and today’s announcement reaffirms the Bank’s commitment to the game across all levels in Ulster.
A feature of the enhanced sponsorship agreement will see Bank of Ireland build on its existing support for Women’s rugby in Ireland by sponsoring the Ulster Senior Women’s side. This new sponsorship feature with Ulster Rugby further builds on the Bank’s recently announced national partnership with the Irish Rugby Football Union.
This comprehensive funding for both the Men’s and Women’s game is further strengthened by the Bank’s ongoing commitment to the growth of the Towns Cup and Senior Cup, which continues to make a positive contribution to grassroots sporting communities in Ulster.
The new sponsorship agreement represents the most comprehensive sponsorship of Men’s and Women’s sport in Ireland. It will see Bank of Ireland broaden its support for Ulster Rugby and the other provinces at all levels of the game – representing a significant investment by the Bank in ensuring that rugby continues to thrive all over the island of Ireland.
Speaking at the official launch of the Ulster Rugby sponsorship extension, Laura Lynch, Bank of Ireland Chief Marketing Officer said:
“Bank of Ireland’s commitment to supporting Ulster Rugby has steadily grown since 1997, and we are thrilled to extend this sponsorship agreement for another five years. Adding the sponsorship of the Ulster Rugby Senior Women’s side is further evidence of our commitment to the province.
“Through our sponsorship we aim to support the growth and development of the game, building on existing successes and ensuring that players from all over the island of Ireland, from local schools and clubs all the way up to the men’s and women’s provincial and national sides have every opportunity to #neverstopcompeting.”
Hugh McCaughey, Interim CEO of Ulster Rugby said;
"We look forward to continuing our longstanding partnership with Bank of Ireland, which has been in place now for 27 years. The Bank’s investment is vital to the ambition and success of our province, and testament to our shared commitment for long-term growth of our sport. We welcome the Bank’s new sponsorship of the Ulster Rugby Senior Women’s team and continued support for all levels of rugby in Ulster.”
