With perfect weather conditions on an autumn day, both sets of school supporters were in very loud voice from the stands to make it a good atmosphere before kick-off.
Methodist College started off on the front foot, and went ahead after some big carries in the Campbell 22.
The skipper, Harry Doherty, going over the whitewash from under the posts. The score was converted by full-back, Rhys Johnston, for early 7-0 lead.
Campbell reacted well and forced themselves into the Methodist 22. After a 5m scrum, they worked the ball out wide to Sam Bowen, and the outside centre found Jacob Marshall on the wing, who finished well. Bowen converted well from distance to go with his try assist.
They soon added a second, after prop, Conor McKinney, went over from a quick pick and go from close range. Bowen again converting.
Methodist College then re-grouped and responded. Captain, Harry Doherty, scoring a great try after a super break from centre, James Reid. Rhys Johnston's kick from the left curled in off the crossbar for the extra two points to level the contest.
Methodist then took the lead after a great finish just a few phases later, through Michael Melo, the quick winger breaking tackles to finish over in the left corner for an unconverted try.
They added a fourth after winger, Cillian Hall, was sent over in the corner by flanker, Zandrei Salazer.
That try ensured that Methodist College entered the break worth a ten point lead at 24-14.
Campbell needed a fast restart and that's exactly what the Belfast school did, with Jacob Marshall scoring straight from the restart in a quick response.
The momentum was fully with Campbell and they took the lead for the first time in the final after the impressive prop, Conor McKinney, powered through to score. Bowen converted the prop's score.
Shell-shocked, Methodist, were then caught again by a confident Campbell, who extended their lead further after the small scrum-half, Oliver Larkin, sniped over from a ruck.
The conversion made the scoreline 24-35 to the team in black.
Methodist college showed good grit to hit back and pile the pressure on, winger Michael Melo, again showcased his finishing ability to narrow the scoreline.
Campbell's defence then held firm against a Methodist College attack and in the final play, a red card was shown to Methodist College's Alex O'Hagan for a high tackle.
That penalty ended the contest and the referee blew for full-time and joyous celebrations from the Campbell College players.
