On Wednesday 22nd March, The Royal School Armagh and Friends' School Lisburn will meet in the 2017 Danske Bank Ulster Schools' Medallion Shield Final.
It will be a new name on the trophy this year, as both The Royal School Armagh and Friends' School Lisburn have never won the Medallion Shield, with the competition more than 100 years old.
The Medallion Shield was first played for in 1910 when Methody beat RBAI 11-0. For the first five years only these two schools contested for the shield, and indeed, both currently top the roll of honour on 35 titles each.
