Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup
On Wednesday 29 January, Ballymena Academy hosted Dalriada School in the replay of their drawn Round of Sixteen game.
Ballymena Academy won this game by 22-0 and will now travel to play Rainey Endowed School in the quarter-final on Saturday 8 February.
Ollie Collins, Charlie Hargy and Ruari Kennedy scored the Ballymena Academy tries with Reuben Allen adding two successful conversions as well as one successful penalty goal.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools' Bowl
On Tuesday 28 January, Friends’ School Lisburn hosted Belfast High School in their previously postponed Round of Sixteen game.
Friends’ School maintained their recent run of good form and recorded a comprehensive 40-0 win.
Players such as Joel Collins, Ross Glover, Scott Henderson, Ethan Salt, Joel Irwin, Ryley Murphy, and Gethin Mageean, led by their captain, Paddy Donaghey, were all to the fore when it came to scoring points for the Friends’ School Lisburn team.
Friends’ will now travel to play Cambridge House Grammar School in the quarter-final on/before Saturday 8 February.
Barban Hill in Dromore was the venue, when Dromore High School hosted Royal School Dungannon and played their recently postponed Round of Sixteen game.
Royal School Dungannon won the game by 39-14 and will now entertain Omagh Academy in the quarter-final, whilst Dromore High will host Belfast High School in the quarter-final of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Trophy.
Dromore scored two tries through Harry Cromie with Daniel Ennis McManus adding the extras to both tries.
RS Dungannon scored six tries during the game. Josh Ferguson ran in for two, with Isaac Busby, Angus Lam, James Gibson and Ben Cormac touching down for one try apiece.
James capped a fine personal performance with three successful conversion kicks as well as one penalty goal.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Trophy
In the Trophy quarter-final qualifier game, Carrickfergus Grammar School hosted Foyle College at the North Road venue.
Foyle College won the game 42-19 and will now face Bangor Academy away in the quarter-final.
Carrickfergus Grammar scored three tries through Adam Magill, Max Matuszewski and Mark O’Gara.
Alex McAllister was successful with two of his conversion kicks.
Foyle College team scored six tries during the game.
Kaine McClelland touched down for two with Cian O’Leary, Thomas Williamson, Shay Grimes, and Darwyn Nutt running in for one try apiece.
Thomas capped a fine personal performance with all six successful conversions.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools' 2XV Competitions
Friends’ School hosted Foyle College in their previously postponed 2XV Plate quarter-final game.
Friends’ recorded a 24-18 victory and will now travel to play Royal School Armagh 2XV in the semi-final. This game will be played on Tuesday 4 February at 2.00pm.
At the same time, Ballyclare High School played Coleraine Grammar School in the first of the 2XV Plate semi-final games.
Ballyclare High was made to work hard by the young Coleraine Grammar School team before emerging as 29-12 winners.
On Saturday, semi-finals of several 2XV Cup, Plate and Trophy competitions took place.
In the semi-final of the 2XV Cup, Ballymena Academy hosted Campbell College in a game the Campbell College team won by 30-18.
Wallace High School played Royal Belfast Academical Institution in a game that finished as a 19-19 draw.
In the semi-final of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2XV Trophy, Portadown College played Royal School Dungannon and won the game by 31-12.
Omagh Academy played Dromore High School in a game the Dromore High won by 10-7.
The final of the 2XV Trophy will take place at Banbridge RFC on Wednesday 19 February at 2.30pm.
Danske Bank Ulster Schools' 3XV Competitions
On Monday 27 January, Portadown College 3XV played Ballyclare High School 3XV in their postponed 3XV Cup quarter-final game.
Portadown College won the game by 15-7.
The last of the quarter-final games took place when Methodist College 4XV played Wallace High School 3XV.
Wallace won the game by 21-0.
In the 3XV Trophy quarter-final, Royal School Armagh 3XV played Belfast Royal Academy 3XV in a game the Belfast Royal Academy team won by 20-7.
On Thursday 30 January, Banbridge Academy 3XV played Ballymena Academy 3XV in their 3XV Trophy quarter-final game.
Ballymena Academy won this game by 40-0.
On the Inishowen Peninsula in Co. Donegal, Carndonagh Community College played Royal Belfast Academical Institution 5XV in their Trophy quarter-final game.
Carndonagh Community College won this game by 20-5.
On the same afternoon, Royal Belfast Academical Institution 3XV played Enniskillen Royal Grammar School 3XV in their quarter-final game of the 3XV Trophy.
This game finished with RBAI recording a 40-0 victory.
Once the results of all the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 3XV Cup and Trophy quarter-final games were known, the draws for the 3XV Cup and Trophy semi-final games were released.

Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Competitions
On Tuesday at the Old Galgorm Road in Ballymena, Ballymena Academy played Down High School in a replay of their drawn Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield Round of Sixteen game.
Ballymena Academy team won the game by 26-12 and will now host Friends’ School Lisburn in the quarter-final of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield.
Saturday 1 February was a busy day with Medallion Shield, Plate, Bowl and Trophy games taking place.
In the quarter-finals of the Medallion Shield, Ballymena Academy played Friends’ School Lisburn in a game the Friends’ won 12-8.
Methodist College played Campbell College with the Campbell College team recording a 15-12 victory.
Sullivan Upper School played Larne Grammar School and won the game by 20-7.
Wallace High School played Royal Belfast Academical Institution in a game RBAI won 48-8.
In the quarter-finals of the Medallion Plate, Belfast Royal Academy played Royal School Dungannon.
The final score in this game was Belfast Royal Academy 24-25 Royal School Dungannon.
Down High School played Ballyclare High School and won the game 27-15.
Omagh Academy played Dalriada School and won the game 15-0.
Rainey Endowed School played Antrim Grammar School and won the closely contested game 27-23.
In the semi-finals of the Medallion Bowl, Bangor Grammar School played Enniskillen Royal Grammar School in a game the Enniskillen won by 14-10.
Royal School Armagh played Regent House School in a game which finished as a 10-10 draw.
This game will be replayed on Tuesday 4 February at Ards RFC at 2.00pm.
In the semi-finals of the Medallion Trophy, Banbridge Academy played Bangor Academy and won the game 36-7.
Lurgan College played Belfast High School in a game Belfast High won 38-0.
The final of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Trophy, featuring Banbridge Academy and Belfast High School, will take place at Friends’ School Lisburn on Saturday 22 February at 10.30am.
Once the results of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield and Plate games came through, the draws for the semi-finals of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield and Plate were released.
