Domestic Rugby Preview For This Weekend

ULSTER SENIOR LEAGUE

The title will be decided at the Palace Grounds in Armagh tonight when the host side entertain reigning champions Ballynahinch. A win for the Ballymacarn side will see them retain the Stevenson Shield. Armagh coach Andy Hughes will ensure his players provide stiff opposition for the visitors in this concluding game of the league programme. In a rearranged game at Deramore last night, Belfast Harlequins secured a morale boosting (9-3) win over Rainey. Instonians conceded their match with City of Derry.

ULSTER BANK LEAGUE 1B
Dungannon entertain Limerick visitors Shannon in a rearranged match at Stevenson Park. Defeat for the County Tyrone side will see them relegated to Division 2A. Ballynahinch players and officials will be closely following the outcome of the rearranged game involving Landsdowne and St. Mary's. With four points separating St. Mary's and Ballynahinch, defeat for the Dublin side will leave 'Hinch with a chance to avoid the playoff with two games remaining.

ROUND ROBIN PLAYOFFS
Clogher Valley entertain Connacht champions OLBC at the Cran. This is a must win match for the County Tyrone side who harbour ambitions of playing All Ireland rugby. In the other game Munster champions Kanturk play the favourites, Wanderers.

KUKRI QUALIFYING LEAGUE 1
CIYMS welcome Coleraine to Belmont for a crucial game with the result important on two fronts. CIYMS have two games remaining - they need two wins and nine points to secure a place in the All Ireland Junior Cup next season. Coleraine are clinging on to their Qualifying One status with the outcome of results involving Clogher Valley and Instonians determining their future in this league. A must win game for Coleraine. In the other game Cooke face the free scoring 'Seasiders' Bangor at Shaws Bridge. A win for Cooke will guarantee their place in Qualifying One. Bangor have accumulated 14 bonus points along with CV in this league. Another bonus point win would consolidate their third place finish in the league. Expect another high scoring and entertaining game for both sets of supporters.

KUKRI QUALIFYING LEAGUE 2

Expect Randalstown Coach Gary Longwell to have his players up for this contest. Omagh entertain relegated neighbours Strabane at Mellon Park. McCrea Cup finalists Grosvenor will want to keep the winning habit when they play Academy at Belmont. There is a fascinating contest in the North West where Limavady welcome Enniskillen to the John Hunter Memorial Grounds for a must win game for both sides. Both teams are looking to avoid finishing second bottom in the league. Limavady ran Omagh close last Saturday before losing 13-9.
