Patrick Johnston, Phil McGurran and Gary Adams from the Errigle Inn join Ulster Rugby player Iain Henderson and his female counterparts Shirelle Wilson, Ashleigh Baxter and Collette Broome to launch the Errigle's sponsorship of the Ulster Women's rugby team. The Errigle Inn, one of Belfast's best-known public houses, has confirmed that it will continue its sponsorship of the Ulster Women's rugby team. Women's rugby has seen a massive rise in interest and participation since Ireland Women won an historic Six Nations Grand Slam earlier this year. The growth of female rugby has been particularly prevalent in Ulster, where seven new clubs have emerged in the past six months. With such a buzz around the female game, Phil McGurran from the Errigle Inn is delighted to continue with the sponsorship: "It was great to see so many of the Ulster girls involved with the Ireland team when they won the Six Nations in March and hopefully they will be able to add the inter-pro title to their list of achievements in 2013. We are delighted to support the ladies and wish them the best of luck for the season ahead." Phillip Polack, Business Development Manager at Ulster Rugby, commented: "Women's rugby in Ulster has grown significantly since the start of this partnership and we believe the Errigle is best placed to help us make even more strides in developing the female game. This sponsorship is yet another significant boost to the women's rugby in the Province." The Ulster Women opened their IRFU Inter-provincial Championship on Saturday with a 7-41 defeat at Ravenhill. The Ulster girls will travel to Clonmel to play Munster this weekend, before returning home for the final game against Connacht at Queen's Arena, Malone Road (kick off 1.00pm).
