Volunteers are the lifeblood of club rugby, as they dedicate much of their time, energy and enthusiasm to the cause.
As Volunteers' Week draws to a close IRFU (Ulster Branch) is launching its 'Rugby Volunteer Profile'. Kerry Spence, Volunteer & Policy Development Officer, Ulster Rugby said, "This is a great way to capture stories about the local heroes active in rugby in Ulster, not just in Volunteers' Week but throughout the year. We hope to publish some of the stories we get back to showcase the diverse range of volunteers involved in rugby and to inspire others to get involved."
How to use the Rugby Volunteer Profile - download the profile template, complete and return to Kerry by post or email (details below). Or contact Kerry and she will try to come out to the club and complete the profile with the volunteer. IRFU (Ulster Branch) hope to recruit some volunteers who can get out and about, meeting volunteers in the clubs and capturing these stories. If this is something you would be interested in doing please contact Kerry (details below).
Wendy Osborne OBE, Chief Executive of Volunteer Now said, "I am delighted that so many organisations are taking part in this year's Volunteers' Week celebrations. The Week marks the positive impact volunteers make on the lives of people and communities. Many organisations could not deliver the services they offer without volunteers. Likewise, the stories of volunteers, what they do and why they got involved, provides inspiration for others thinking about volunteering to get involved."
