A series of cup finals will take place throughout the day at Rainey OB RFC.
These new competitions were launched back in January to supplement the Super Series, a programme which began at the start of the 2021/22 season.
It aims to ensure girls are provided with the opportunity to play competitive games on a regular basis, increasing the playing numbers for the clubs involved.

Ulster Rugby's Women & Girl’s Rugby Development Officer Eliza Downey said:
"Initially this season was all about girls getting back to their clubs and friends, playing rugby and having fun again after the pandemic."
"In its inception, the Super Series has blown us away regarding the response from players, coaches and clubs. We are now seeing more girls playing rugby in Ulster than ever before."
"The concept was all about creating opportunities for clubs throughout the province to access a series of games regardless of the number of players they had within their team."
"This saw the creation of regional teams Southern Stars, North West Eagles, North East Lightning, Eastern Panthers and Northern Storm. These new regional teams competed against our standalone club teams pre-Christmas in the series, and within our new cup competitions in the new year. From this we have seen the creation of new standalone teams and exponential growth within our U16 age group."
"For our younger players at the U14 age group we have had Let’s Play events and the creation of a competitive league post-Christmas. There is a real appetite for increased playing opportunities and this is something that we want to build upon leading into the new season."
"All of this is only made possible with the continued support and commitment from the players and coaches, so a big thank you to them for coming with us on this journey. We want to wish all the teams the best of luck on the finals day and we are really looking forward to a day packed with some quality rugby."
