A packed Kingspan Stadium played host to the PRO12 final as Glasgow Warriors claimed the league title for the first time in their history.

The Scottish side beat Munster by 31 points to 13 thanks to tries from Rob Harley, DTH Van der Merwe, Henry Pyrgos and a second half score from Finn Russell.

Munster were convincingly beaten and scored just one try, on half time, through Andrew Smith. The rest of their points came from the boot of Ian Keatley.

Thanks to the final, Belfast and Kingspan Stadium were beamed to 84 countries in all four corners of the globe.

The game was shown in the USA, Canada and large parts of Asia, Africa and Asia and Oceania on television or via the internet.

Ahead of the match, the PRO12 trophy toured Belfast, beginning at Visit Belfast’s Welcome Centre in the centre of the city before travelling to bars such as Lavery’s and the Errigle Inn.

The trophy also went to Stormont where the Northern Ireland Executive hosted a VIP lunch for PRO12 executives and sponsors.

While the disappointment of Ulster not being in the final remained as raw as ever, there was small consolation that Belfast and Ulster Rugby’s fantastic Kingspan Stadium were showcased to the sporting world.

Congratulations to Glasgow Warriors. Roll on 2015/16.
