Ulster Rugby is delighted to have been chosen as one of a select number of organisations to deliver its innovative good relations through sport programme to over 800 young people.
Funded by The Executive Office through the ‘Central Good Relations Programme’, pupils will take part in a range of activities including interactive ‘Game On’ and ‘Games Central’ workshops which will use sphero robots and online sharing software to promote teamwork, dialogue, build self-awareness and enhance a shared understanding. Alongside this, cultural trips to the Nevin Spence Centre/Kingspan Stadium, values based rugby sessions and parent’s educational workshops will form the basis for the project.
Ulster Rugby’s Funding Manager, David Johnston, commented:
“As an organisation, we are committed to improving our communities through sport, be that to promote good relations, improve health and wellbeing or to engage with those from areas of deprivation. This project is a fantastic opportunity for young people to engage in meaningful activities in a values driven environment and we’re thrilled that The Executive Office has provided this investment to allow this worthwhile project come to fruition.”
