The starting XV features a mix of Academy, Development and Senior players,
The starting XV contains a mixture of Academy, Development and Senior talent, with six of our Academy players being named in the starting lineup.
This fixture will also provide crucial pitch time for many Senior players as we head towards the end of the 2024/25 season.
Ulster Rugby's 2023/24 Young Player of the season, Harry Sheridan, captains the side in the second row, alongside 2nd Year Academy lock, Charlie Irvine.
Academy player Jack Boal starts at loosehead prop, joining hooker James McCormick and tighthead prop Tom McAllister completes the front row.
Senior squad member, Marcus Rea, starts at blindside flanker, with Sean Reffell making a welcome return from injury to start at openside. Development forward, Lorcan McLoughlin, starts at number eight and completes the forward pack.
The half back partnership sees Conor McKee start at scrum-half and he joins Owen O'Kane, who starts at fly-half. O'Kane will be making his debut for Ulster A following his impressive displays in the Danske Bank School's Cup for Rainey Endowed School this season.
It's an Academy partnership in the midfield as Jonathan Scott starts at inside centre, with Academy back, Wilhelm De Klerk, partnering him at outside centre.
Zac Ward takes up the left-wing position, with Academy back, Lukas Kenny, looking to make his mark on the right-wing. Academy utility-back, Ethan Graham, completes the back three at full-back, following his match winning try against Connacht Eagles back in March.
Hogg names an eight-man bench, Hogg has opted for a 5:3 split on the bench.
With Academy talents Henry Walker, Tom Brigg, Clarke Logan and Rory Telfer all being named amongst the replacements.
The bench is rounded off by senior lock Matthew Dalton, as well as Niall Carville, Joe Mawhinney and Conor Rankin.
Ulster will host the return leg of the fixture, next Saturday, 17th May at Malone RFC (kick-off 1pm).
Tickets are priced at £5 and we would love to see a great turnout to support many of our young Ulster prospects.
