Ulster’s Chris Henry and Paddy Jackson got their first tries for Ireland as Joe Schmidt’s side demolished Wales by 26 points to 3 to make it two wins out of two in the RBS 6 Nations.

Ireland played with ferocious intensity and dominated Wales at the breakdown. After Jonny Sexton kicked the home side into a six points to nil lead, Ireland unleashed their most potent attacking weapon  – the line out maul on 32 minutes.

The Ireland pack drove to the Welsh line and Chris Henry grounded the ball.

Two more penalties from Sexton extended Ireland’s advantage in the second half to 19-3 before right on full time Ireland utilised the maul again with devastating effect.

The pack gathered momentum, the ball was passed out to replacement outhalf, Paddy Jackson, who was able to run in under the posts.

The only negative for Ireland was an injury to substitute lock Dan Tuohy, who suffered an arm injury and was forced off the field of play.

Ireland can now secure the triple-crown if they beat England at Twickenham in two weeks time.
