International Women's Day message from Paula Stewart

A message from our Chair of the Ulster Rugby Women and Girls’ Committee, Paula Stewart on International Women's Day 2024.

On this International Women’s Day, I pay tribute to all those who play, coach, facilitate or support Women and Girls’ Rugby in Ulster.

2024 has kicked off in style and we have witnessed some amazing rugby throughout the province.  The Celtic Challenge was a resounding success and will continue to develop our amazing players.  Women and Girls Rugby in Ulster continues to grow at an impressive rate, and it is great to see so many young girls be inspired by those women who have represented Ulster and Ireland so admirably.

At a provincial level I have had the opportunity to watch some fiercely competitive matches and I know the upcoming Cup games will bring some fantastic rugby as we near the end of the competitive season.

I am honoured to be surrounded by some incredible women throughout Ulster Rugby, both on the field and in the Committee, who continue to break barriers, inspire change and shape the world around them.

Today we celebrate the strength and resilience of all women, and may we continue to uplift, empower, support, and inspire each other.

Happy International Women’s Day!
