The fixture is the second match for Ulster 'A' of the IRFU 150 interprovincial championship, with Gavin Hogg's side aiming to bounce back after an opening round defeat against Connacht Eagles at Kingspan Stadium.
Murphy says that the side is excited for the opportunity to test themselves against Munster in Tipperary after the disappointment of the Connacht Eagles defeat.
The former Leinster and Clontarf RFC man came off the bench in the 14-40 defeat at a behind closed doors encounter in Belfast, notching his first points with a conversion after Ben Moxham's second-half score.
" I can’t wait to go down to Munster, we can hopefully have a good performance down there and really looking forward to starting for the first time in an Ulster team.
It was great to get playing here at Kingspan Stadium, they (Connacht Eagles) were quite strong so it was a good test for us and I’m just looking forward to hopefully getting a win down in Munster."
Murphy is excited by the prospect of conducting an exciting Ulster 'A' backline, with exciting backs like Lukas Kenny, Josh Gibson and Wilhelm De Klerk around him.
"We’ve got a really good backline, hopefully we can really get on the front-foot and make the most of some quick-ball. We want to get the ball into the wingers hands and play some nice rugby."
Murphy, who was away in the summer with the Ireland U20 side for the Junior World Cup in South Africa alongside teammates such as Jacob Boyd and Bryn Ward, said that the team and staff at Ulster have made him feel very settled into the province after making the move.
"It’s been great, all the lads here from been great, they have helped me settle in really well and over the last few weeks we have been really integrated with the seniors and a lot of those guys have been great and helped me. I’m loving it so far."
Murphy also wore the green jersey on the recent Emerging Ireland tour to South Africa, playing alongside senior men's players like Cormac Izuchukwu and Harry Sheridan.
He added that the experience of working alongside national team coaches such as Simon Easterby was a huge help to his development.
"Definitely, it was great for me, there was a lot of learnings for me, getting coached by the national coaches and playing with some experienced players was great for me, when I came back I felt like I had taken a lot from it."
Murphy like many of his other academy and 'A' teammates will be hoping to make the most of their opportunities in order to push for senior team minutes.
Ulster Rugby will be sharing score updates from the 'A' game in Tipperary against Munster 'A' on Friday afternoon via our social media channels.
