Launch of Women’s Junior Cup and Suzanne Fleming Cup for 2023/24 season

Ahead of the Women’s Junior Cup kicking off for Premiership clubs, and the Suzanne Fleming Cup for Championship clubs, the 20 clubs involved in the competitions from across the province came to Kingspan Stadium for the Round 1 and Quarter Final dr...

This season will see a total of seven Premiership clubs competing for the Women’s Junior Cup, and fourteen Championship clubs for the Suzanne Fleming Cup.

The Quarter Final draw for the Junior Cup, and Round 1 draw for the Suzanne Fleming Cup, was carried out at Kingspan Stadium by Women and Girls' Committee Chairperson, Paula Stewart, and Ulster Rugby President, Denis Gardiner.

The Junior Cup will begin on 3rd March, with the Suzanne Fleming Cup getting underway on 11th February.

Ulster Rugby Women and Girls’ Development Manager, Mollie Davies, who joined the club four months ago, said:

“We’re really looking forward to this season’s Women’s Junior Cup and the Suzanne Fleming Cup getting underway, with the growth in the Women and Girls’ game in Ulster showcased by yet another increase in the number of clubs competing across the two competitions in 2023/24.

“I have really enjoyed getting to know the players, coaches and staff involved in the game since starting at Ulster Rugby, and it’s clear that both of these cup competitions are a highlight in the calendar.

“Good luck to all the players and clubs taking part, and I’m excited to watch what are set to be some fantastic contests in the months ahead.”

Women’s Junior Cup 2023/24 – Schedule

Semi-Finals

The three match winners from the Quarter Finals, and the team who received a bye, will progress to the Semi Finals. A draw will take place to produce two fixtures, to be played on the weekend of 17th March. The losers from the Quarter Finals will progress to the Semi Final of the Junior Shield.

Final

The two winners of each of the Semi Finals will progress to the Final of either the Junior Cup, or the Junior Shield. Dates and venue TBC.

Suzanne Fleming Cup 2023/24 – Schedule

 Quarter Finals

The winners from Round 1 will progress to the Quarter Finals of the Suzanne Fleming Cup, with the losers entering the Quarter Finals of the Suzanne Fleming Shield. Quarter Final contests will be played weekend of 18th of February, with a draw taking place to determine the fixtures.

Semi Finals

The weekend of 17th March will see the teams who won their Quarter Finals play for a place in the Final of their respective competition, either the Suzanne Fleming Cup or the Suzanne Fleming Shield.

Final

Winners of the Semi Finals will progress to the Suzanne Fleming Cup Final or the Suzanne Fleming Shield Final. Dates and venue TBC.
