Leinster were first to register on the board through winger, Elise O Byrne-White in the corner after moving the ball wide. Jenny Murphy was unable to convert.
Ulster began to put Leinster under pressure at the breakdown and got dividend when captain Beth Cregan made the poach and gave Jemma Farrell the opportunity to kick for an attacking line-out. The visitors enjoyed a good spell of possession, but Leinster eventually regained control and hooker, Lisa Callan made a break on the Ulster 22-metre line to rumble over between the posts. Murphy landed the extras to put the hosts 12-up.
Leinster continued to draw Ulster’s defences to put the ball through the hands, with out-half Nikki Caughey claiming their third try.
Just two minutes later, Number Eight, Jenny Murphy made a break with her attempted offload hacked on for full-back Ella Roberts to collect and score.
Once again, Leinster got purchase when they passed out wide. Centre, Niamh Byrne was the grateful recipient of the ball to crash over in the right-hand corner on thirty minutes.
Ulster had a chance in the closing stages in the first half when out-half Toni Macartney made a fantastic break, but she was well-handled by the hosts and Ulster were unable to get on the board by the break.
Leinster opened their second-half account through centre Michelle Claffey finding her way over the whitewash. Nikki Caughey took over the kicking duties but was unable to convert.
Ulster finally got on the board on 44 minutes, with Ilse van Staden doing really well to power her way over for the visitors.
As she did versus Connacht last week, Michelle Claffey claimed a brace on 46 minutes, increasing Leinster’s lead further. Ulster refused to let the heads drop; Ilse van Staden was particularly prominent in the loose, making strong carries in the middle of the park.
in the 51st minute, Taryn Schutzler – making her first senior Ulster start – made a great read at an attacking Ulster line-out to sneak up the short side and run in for the try.
Fern Wilson impressed on a number of occasions through her excellent covering tackles, but the women in blue proved just too much for Ulster around the edges. Full-back, Ella Roberts made her second score of the evening with a little show-and-go.
The hosts had the wind in their sails once again, and scored another three tries in the final fifteen minutes through Grace Miller, Emily McKeown and Vic O’Mahony, to firmly see out the game.
Ulster’s final game in the 2021 Vodafone Interprovincial Series will be a trip back to Energia Park to face Connacht on Saturday 11 September (5pm kick-off).
