With Ulster coming back from Durban with five points in the bag, the mood in the camp is vibrant ahead of another quick turnaround, with a tough trip to Cardiff ahead.
A number of Ulster players were kept in Belfast to prepare specifically for the game, which Assistant Coach Dan Soper says has been a positive factor in training in this week.
On the Sharks scalp
“Brilliant result in very tough conditions so full credit to the medical and performance team for their work and the players were professional in how they prepared. Everyone is really delighted."
On Stewart Moore's smart try
"Smart players know the laws of the game, Stew showed he did and that score is the difference in the result. You can encourage the guys to be aware of the laws, I would bet Stew has probably seen that somewhere else and he's inquisitive and asked someone what the laws are. It's got him the easiest try he will ever score!
On preparing for Cardiff
"We were able to leave a handful of the squad I'm just off pitch with 23 guys who have been able to train with a real focus to Cardiff. We have a core of a team who are ahead of the game and we will rely, on them to steer things as they go on.
The team have proven they can go around the world and get a result so they will be used to travelling to Cardiff."
Crucial period
"The lions beating Glasgow and us winning keeps it in our control. You always want to be in control of your own destiny and look at your own results, as long as we win we can keep things in our hands."
Ulster fly half Billy Burns is looking forward to the away trip after being part of a group of the province's players who were kept behind in Belfast to prepare for the Cardiff match.
On watching the boys in Durban
"It was a huge result for the squad, watching at home was tough when you aren’t involved but the boys did brilliant and the conditions looked horrendous to play in.
It was crucial after the Glasgow defeat and we can all be incredibly proud of the win."
Cardiff Prep
"Three away games is tough, we love it part of the sport, the guys that stayed prepped for Cardiff, so with guys coming back from South Africa we feel we got a head start and can get them up to speed as well.
You need a full squad throughout a season through rest, injuries, internationals and some guys who haven't been playing as much as they would like have stepped it up and that puts pressure on everybody else."
On Cardiff threat
"They are coming off the back of a good win and have had had more time to prepare for us. They are a massive jackal threat, big at the breakdown and have great guys over the ball.
Jarrad Evans is a brilliant fly half, one of the best when playing well and a strong back three. I've never played there but looking forward to it, we’ve spotted areas we think we can exploit but its a tough place to go. We have to get another couple of good training sessions in and go there confident to try finish this block off with a win."
Building momentum
"Every game is huge because the league table is tight, from second to eighth its tight and we have to take it week by week. We have a target of a home Quarter Final in the URC play-offs so this period is huge we cant look too far ahead."
