ULSTER BANK LEAGUE: DIVISION 2A

BALLYMENA (1st) v BANBRIDGE (14th), Eaton Park

Ballymena are spearheading the Ulster charge at the top of the table, unbeaten in their four games to date. By contrast their visitors are yet to record a win and are kept at the bottom of the table by two losing bonus points. Dan Soper's squad desperately need a win boost their fortunes but they will face an uphill task against the inform Braidmen. The home side should be set fair to maintain their winning run with City of Derry on their heels.

CITY OF DERRY (2nd) v OLD CRESCENT (13th), Judge's Road

The home side are just a point behind the league leaders, thanks in part to three try bonuses. They will feel that the draw against Bective was a missed opportunity that they have to make up for. Visitors Old Crescent have only won one game in their four to date and are likely to struggle unless they can replicate the Bective formula. They will be hoping to take advantage of the host's increasing injury list which includes Richard McCarter, Davy Houston, Chris Shields, Chris Barber, Chris Cooper and captain David Funston.

QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY (10th) v NAAS (9th), Dub Lane

Naas's slightly better negative points difference is all that separates these two sides in the table at present. Queen's have faced top four sides in their last two outings - losing to Ballymena and Galwegians. Naas lost to City of Derry and drew with Seapoint in their last two games. They are evenly matched going into the weekend.

UCC (5th) v RAINEY OLD BOYS (4th), The Mardyke

A contender for match of the day in Division 2A as 5th plays host to 4th with only a point between them. Rainey have scored an impressive 114 points but they have also had a leaky defence, conceding 104. UCC have only let in 58 points by comparison. An entertaining if possibly tight game is on the cards and well worth catching in the Mardyke.

ULSTER BANK LEAGUE: DIVISION 2B

ARDS (5th) v SLIGO (14th), Hamilton Park

A home from home this weekend as Sligo make the trip from Hamilton Park in Strandhill to Hamilton Park in Newtownards. Ards are going well in 5th place with three wins to date and will look to build on that momentum again on Saturday. Sligo drew at home to Thomond in the last game but lost their three previous. On that form you have to favour the home side.

ARMAGH (4th) v SKERRIES (2nd), Palace Grounds

A big match at the Palace Grounds this weekend as 4th plays 2nd. The home side have only conceded 44 points in their four matches to date. That stat is only bettered in Division 2B by Skerries who have shipped only 25. That suggests it could be tight on Saturday but it will be no less compelling as these two sides have been playing some good rugby.

NENAGH ORMOND (1st) v INSTONIANS (12th), New Ormond Park

Four wins, three try bonuses and a points difference north of 100 tells you everything about the home side so far this season. They have yet to face a top 4 side but they are doing the job in front of them each week and winning becomes a habit. Inst have only won one out of four thus far and look set to struggle again on Saturday afternoon in Co. Tipperary.
