A Partnership Built on Shared Values
The agreement brings together two ambitious organisations with a shared commitment to strengthening local communities, creating opportunities for young people, and investing in the future of the region.
As part of the partnership, Fibrus branding will feature prominently throughout the Affidea Stadium, including on the scoreboard, spectator walkways and pitchside branding, enhancing the matchday experience for supporters while strengthening the connection between the two organisations.
The partnership coincides with a significant expansion of the Fibrus network across Belfast, which will see an additional 90,000 premises connected to its full fibre broadband network, increasing its total footprint in the city to 170,000 premises.
Investing in the Next Generation Through Sport
Beyond visibility at the stadium, the partnership will focus on delivering meaningful community impact. Ulster Rugby and Fibrus share a passion for supporting grassroots sport and inspiring the next generation, building on existing initiatives that encourage participation, inclusion and development across local communities.
The announcement follows the recent launch of the Fibrus Play it Forward Fund 2026, an annual initiative supporting grassroots sports clubs across Northern Ireland and Cumbria. Since launching in 2023, the fund has awarded more than £150,000 to 152 clubs, helping organisations invest in equipment, facilities, coaching programmes and participation opportunities for young people.
Launching the Partnership
Commenting on the new partnership, Hugh McCaughey, Chief Executive Officer of Ulster Rugby, said:
"We are delighted to welcome Fibrus to the Ulster Rugby family as our Exclusive Full Fibre Broadband Partner. As two organisations with strong roots in Northern Ireland, we share a commitment to connecting communities, supporting young people and creating opportunities that have a lasting impact.
"Fibrus has demonstrated a genuine dedication to investing in local communities through initiatives such as the Play it Forward Fund, and those values align closely with our own ambitions both on and off the pitch. We are excited to work together over the next three years to engage supporters, strengthen grassroots sport and deliver positive outcomes across the region."
Colin Hutchinson, Group Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at Fibrus, added:
"This is a natural partnership for Fibrus as we continue to expand our network across Belfast. Ulster Rugby is one of Northern Ireland’s most beloved sporting organisations and the Affidea Stadium is an iconic Belfast venue, attracting thousands of supporters throughout the season.
"What was important to us was finding a partner who shares our commitment to strengthening the communities we serve, and Ulster Rugby’s ongoing ethos complements our culture perfectly.
"Over the next three years we look forward to working together to create meaningful impact, celebrate Northern Ireland’s sporting success and build stronger connections across the region."
The partnership was formally launched at the Affidea Stadium, with Fibrus Group Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Colin Hutchinson joined by Ulster Rugby Club Captain Iain Henderson, alongside players Zac Ward and Juarno Augustus.
