We are proud to join our fellow BKT United Rugby Championship teams in celebrating Origin Round when we take on Dragons at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday 2 March (kick-off 7.35pm).
Origin Round is where all URC teams and supporters come together to champion the clubs and volunteers that gave all of our players, staff and supporters their first steps into the world of rugby.
The impact of all of our amazing volunteers across the province is immeasurable and this gives us an opportunity to give our thanks to those who shaped our passion for the game.
We want all our clubs to get involved with Origin Round - that's why we're encouraging our supporters to come along to the game and represent your origin by wearing your club jersey or colours.
The team on Saturday night will be wearing their junior club/ school socks on the night - to pay tribute to their own personal rugby journey.
The URC's Origin Round LED branding will appear pitch-side at the stadium with each player's junior club/ school being read out by our stadium announcer and visible on our big screens.
To present the BKT Player of the Match medal, we have a very special guest on the night. Seven-year old, Lewis Rennie, who recently spent the day with the team to recognise his charity fundraising efforts for his late brother, Callum.
Also in the spirit of celebrating grassroots rugby, the Ulster Rugby Foundation will be holding it's first match night raffle supporters, with the chance to win one of two exciting prizes.
Raffle tickets cost £5 and all proceeds will go towards the Foundation supporting grassroot rugby programmes across the province.
