Ulster U17 Schools & Clubs play Inter-Provincial Challenges

The Ulster U17 Schools and Clubs went to Athlone on Saturday for a new venture to take on their Provincial counterparts in a series of challenge games.

The U17s Schools squad (pictured) of 31 players played two 25 minute games against Munster Schools, with both squads being split up into two teams. In both games Ulster ran out 10-5 winners.

In the first game, some great handling and running skills by Robbie Johnson set up
scores for Angus Adair and Kevin Armstrong.

In the second game, Ben McGaughey performed the same running evasion skills to get himself a score and his break from half-way set up another for Harry Owens.

In the U17s Club games Ulster played Munster in two games and a further game against a Connacht Schools / Club select. One again a large squad of U17s clubs were used, and in their series of games they won 1 drew 1 and lost 1.

All in all it was a great experience for all the players and hopefully we will see them representing Ulster in the U18 Interprovincial series next year.
