The Ulster U18 Girls Development squad face matches against Munster and Connacht this Saturday. After the success of the Ireland Women in winning the 6 Nations Grand Slam, Ulster Rugby staff members have been working hard to ensure that growth of female rugby within the Province is accelerated. Throughout the summer, the Ulster U18 Girls Development squad has been working hard in preparation for a series of matches against the other provinces this month. Having started with a group of just over 40 players, the final squad of 26 was selected just over a month ago and the wide representation from clubs across Ulster is testament to the strong development work done by both Ulster Rugby and its affilaited clubs. Armagh and Finn Valley each have six representatives in the squad, with Cavan and Malone both providing three and Bangor providing two. The squad is completed with players from Newry, Omagh, Donegal, Cooke and Belfast Harlequins. The team will be captained by Shannon Heapes from Finn Valley. The squad travel to Dublin on Saturday 16th November to play two matches against Munster and Connacht at the Westmanstown Sports Complex just outside Dublin (starting at 1pm). The series will be completed on 30th November at Queen's Arena, Malone Road, when the girls will take on their Leinster counterparts at 12pm, immediately prior to the Senior Women's inter-pro which kicks off at Ravenhill at 2.30pm. As they prepared for the weekend, Philip Doyle, Head Coach of the Ireland Women who achieved 6 Nations Grand Slam success earlier this year, attended Wednesday's training session in Armagh to give some advice to the girls. Philip provided support to Ulster's coaching team of Jonny Gillespie (Head Coach), Johnny Graham (Forwards Coach), Darren McGuigan (Backs coach), Zoe Templeton and Glenda Mellon (Management) as well as taking the chance to look at some stars of the future. Some of the girls will also get the chance to showcase their skills in front of a Friday night crowd at Ravenhill when Armagh U18 Girls take on Bangor and Enniskillen U15s play Virginia at half time of the Ulster v Edinburgh RaboDirect PRO12 match. ULSTER U18 GIRLS DEVELOPMENT SQUAD:
