Want to get up to speed ahead of the 2023/24 Women’s domestic season?

The 2023/24 Women’s domestic season will get underway for club players on Sunday 10 September with the start of the Women’s Premiership and Championship A & B divisions.

With eight teams in the Premiership, seven teams in the Championship A, and eight teams in Championship B, games will be played home and away on alternate weekends for each of the teams competing.

Following a successful 2022/23 season, Ballynahinch RFC move up to the Premiership and will host Dungannon RFC in the first week of the competition.

Meanwhile, Banbridge RFC moved up to the Championship in the second part of last season, following an unbeaten run in the Conference League. The club won all but one of their league fixtures in the latter half of the 2022/23 season. Their first match of the 2023/24 Championship A campaign, in the newly restructured Women’s league, is against Randalstown RFC.

With Championship B set to once again be competitive, Virginia RFC, who went on an impressive winning streak in the second part of last season will look to keep this going away to Portadown RFC on the opening day of the new season.

Malone RFC will begin their defence of the Junior Cup trophy, as a Premiership club, in March – but will have to wait a little longer to find out their opponents with the draw scheduled to take place next month. Queens RFC will be looking to exact revenge following defeat to Malone RFC by the narrowest of margins in last year’s Final.

Carrickfergus RFC edged out Cooke 2 in a similarly enthralling game in the Suzanne Fleming Cup Final, and will have a close eye on the hat for the first round draw.
