In Division 1B Belfast Harlequins are safe after their win at Galway Corinthians last Sat. They are involved in an Ulster derby with relegated Dungannon at Deramore Park. Another massive game in store takes place at Gibson Park as Malone coach, Jacque Benade will be looking to plot another win over Galway Corinthians to retain their Division 1B status. Malone showed their potential against Shannon with Ulster Academy second row Alan O'Connor putting in a Man of the Match performance. Such was the dominance of the forwards the Malone faithful will be looking another commanding performance from this young side who have shown tremendous character all season. Four points separate second bottom Blackrock College and Malone going into the final game on Saturday.
At Shaws Bridge Instonians are involved in a playoff match with Munster side Kanturk to retain their Senior status and participation in next season's Ulster Bank League. Coach William Leacock will be hoping the win at Suttonians in Dublin will act as a springboard for his team in this most difficult of fixtures. In the Qualifying Leagues there will be several anxious Junior clubs hoping for an Instonians win. A loss for Instonians will see two clubs relegated from Qualifying One, Two and Three. In the meeting of Omagh and Limavady at Mellon Park in Qualifying Two, one point separates second bottom Limavady from Enniskillen. A win for Limavady could see Enniskillen relegated. If Limavady pick up a losing bonus point they will face a relegation playoff with Enniskillen. League winners Ballyclare are down to play already relegated Strabane who have found life very difficult in this league with no wins to show for their efforts. Carrick travel to Roughfort tonight to play Academy in their outstanding league game with a 7.15pm kick off. Bragging rights will be at stake in this County Antrim derby. In Qualifying Four league champions Ophir will wrap up their unbeaten season as league champions when they travel to Greenisland to play neighbours BHSFP.
On Saturday we will see the first of four club finals to be played at Ravenhill. Qualifying League Three league champions Holywood will look to retain the Gordon West Cup when they play their closest challengers Larne at Ravenhill with a 3.30pm kick off. On Easter Monday the 21st April Qualifying League One champions, Clogher Valley play Donaghadee in the Final of the Towns Cup with a 2.30pm kick off. On Easter Tuesday Queen's 3rds play Ballynahinch 3rds in the final of the Crawford Cup with a 2.30pm kick off. On Wednesday the 23rd April neighbours Grosvenor and CIYMS do battle for the McCrea Cup with a 7pm kick off.
In the Kukri Conference league on Wednesday night Ballynahinch 2nds defeated Bangor 27-23 in a eight try thriller at Upritchard Park, than entertained the sizeable crowd. Bangor complete their programme when they travel to Eaton Park on Sat to play Ballymena 2nds.
