Competitive rugby returns to Affidea Stadium as Ulster kick off a new URC season in Belfast
The wait is nearly over as Ulster Rugby prepares to begin the 2026/27 BKT United Rugby Championship season with a home fixture against Edinburgh at Affidea Stadium on Friday 25 September (kick-off 7.45pm).
After a productive pre-season campaign, Richie Murphy's side will return to competitive action looking to make a strong start against their Scottish visitors in what promises to be an important opening night in Belfast.
With another highly competitive URC season ahead, every point will count from the opening round, making the clash with Edinburgh an early opportunity for Ulster to build momentum in front of a home crowd.
Supporters attending the season opener can also look forward to a number of enhancements to the matchday experience at Affidea Stadium. A bigger pre-match atmosphere in the Supporter Village, live entertainment, new food and beverage offerings, the introduction of the pre-match Go Power Light Show and the Abbey Autoline Half Time Quiz will all contribute to an exciting opening night.
The fixture marks the start of an 18-round regular season that will see Ulster face teams from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy and South Africa in pursuit of a place in the URC Play-Offs.
