It's another busy weekend of club and schools action across the province. The Bank of Ireland Towns Cup and Gordon West Cup get underway, while the Danske Bank Schools Cup and Danske Bank Under 16 Schools Cup continue on the schools front.
There's also matches down for decision in the Ulster Youth Leagues and it's week two of the Woman’s Premiership and Championship.
There are five ties down for decision in the Gordon West Cup while the Bank of Ireland Towns Cup begins with two ties in the preliminary round.
City of Derry were the first winners of the Towns Cup back in 1883, and they have lifted the trophy a further ten times since, and they welcome Academy to Judges Road on Saturday afternoon.
Both sides sit mid-table in Championship 2 on 12 points, but Academy travel to the North-West in confidence following their 29-26 win at Judges Road three weeks ago.
Saturday should see another close encounter.
In the other tie, Enniskillen 2XV host Randalstown at Mullaghmeen.
Enniskillen are without a win this season, but their results don’t tell a true reflection of their season.
A draw with Ballyclare was followed by a narrow defeat to Rainey, so they’ll be eager to break their duck against a Randalstown team that always saves their best for the cup.
The Gordon West Cup also kicks off on Saturday afternoon.
Virginia will be aiming to go one step further this year after being denied at the death against Strabane in last year’s final.
The Cavan men begin this year’s campaign in Newry where they recently recorded a big win in the league.
At Donaldson Park, Donaghadee host PSNI, while Civil Service make the short journey across Belfast to face unbeaten Grosvenor at Gibson Park.
Two Provincial League teams, Holywood and Donegal Town are also in the hunt for cup glory.
At Kerr Park, Holywood host Monaghan.
Monaghan return to Gordon West Cup action after a spell in Championship 2, and they will be hoping to repeat their 2023 success when they last contested in this competition.
Donegal Town welcome County Cavan to The Holmes in what promises to be a close encounter. Both sides are still searching for their first win of the season, and a cup run could be just what these sides require to kick-start their seasons.
There is also one game taking place in the Danske Bank Schools Cup with Antrim Grammar School hosting Grosvenor GS at 10am, while in the Danske Bank Under 16 Schools Cup, Coleraine Grammar welcome Royal School Armagh to banks of the River Bann. This kicks-off at 10.30am.
It’s week three of the Ulster Youth Leagues with matches taking place across all three age grades.
On Sunday there’s a full programme of fixtures in the Women’s Premiership and Championship with Malone v Queens University, and Portadown v Randalstown the stand-out ties.
