Enniskillen Go Top In AIL 1B
Enniskillen Women’s team sit proudly on top of Energia All-Ireland League Division 1B after a 12-5 win over provincial rivals Cooke at Shaw’s Bridge on Saturday evening.
A Molly Boyd try in the 10th minute gave Cooke the early initiative as the South Belfast outfit set about repeating their recent win over the Fermanagh side in the Rosie Stewart Memorial Bowl.
The game turned on its head in the 43rd minute when Zara Flack went over for Enniskillen’s first try. Eve Balfour converted to hand Enniskillen a two-point lead, and just seven minutes later it got even better for the visitors when Leah Irwin went over for Skins second try.
Cooke went close on a number of occasions to an equalising score, but the Enniskillen defence held firm to secure a vital win on their debut season in the AIL.
