10 Things To Know About Charity Night

We are delighted to announce that tomorrow night is our ‘Big Step Forward’ night in aid of our Official Charity Partner 2014/15, Mencap.

1. Mencap: Throughout the evening you can walk your wacky shoes and socks into our ‘pedicam’ in the Phoenix Dome, where there is the opportunity to ‘Tweet your Feet’ to @UlsterRugby with #bigstepforward. There are prizes up for grabs for the best three entries. Mencap will also have bucket collectors located around the stadium and outside the front gates.

2. Match Update: Ulster will take on Glasgow Warriors tomorrow at Kingspan Stadium at the earlier time of 17.05. This will be the second fixture of their Scottish double header, last week the team beat Edinburgh 30 points to nil. However they face a tougher challenge against Glasgow who are currently top of the Guinness PRO12 table with 23 points.

Ulster Head Coach, Neil Doak, has made three changes to the side that beat Edinburgh, with Paddy Jackson injured, Ian Humphreys is named at outhalf, Andrew Warwick is selected at loosehead in place of Ruaidhri Murphy and Nick Williams is selected at Number 8 in place of Roger Wilson. 3. Ticket Update: More than 15,500 tickets have been sold for the match and the crowd is already the biggest of the season at Kingspan Stadium so far. The Hughes Insurance Family Stand, the Grandstand, Premium Stand, the Memorial End Stand and the East Terrace are now completely sold out. However there is limited availability in the West, Family and Memorial End Terraces. To purchase a ticket for the game click here.

Tickets will also be available at the Ticket Booth located at the Onslow Parade gate on the Ravenhill Road side of the ground from 3:30pm tomorrow afternoon, however these will be restricted to one terrace only, therefore buying online ahead of the game is recommended.

 4. Ulster Rugby Values: We are proud that a night at Kingspan Stadium watching the Ulster Rugby team play is a safe, enjoyable, inclusive experience for people of any age. We have a number of traditions that we believe make our stadium one of the best places in Europe to watch live rugby. 

  • Here are our Ulster Rugby values and we ask all our fans to support them throughout the season:

  • We are silent during kicks at goal by both teams. 
  • We respect the match officials’ decisions.
  • We drink responsibly. 
  • We are mindful of our language, especially when there are children and young people near us. 
  • We do not tolerate sectarian, homophobic or derogatory language. 
  • We respect the opposition players, supporters, management and officials.

5. Phoenix Dome Fan Zone: Paddy Jackson, Ruan Pienaar and Iain Henderson will be signing autographs for fans from 3.30pm to 4.15pm in the new Phoenix Dome located in the centre of the Food Village. Fans are encouraged to get there early to grab a programme or free flag in the dome to get signed by the players. OUR Club will also be giving out goodie bags to our junior season ticket holders in the dome this evening for those who missed out last weekend. 6. Match Programme: The Ulster Rugby match programme will be on sale from 3.30pm in the stadium. The programme contains match information, player profiles, team sheets, partner competitions, local rugby news, OUR Club junior activities, a guest article by Mencap and exclusive interviews with Jared Payne and new signing Wiehahn Herbst.

7. Download our NEW Digital Match Programme: For those of you who can’t make it to the game and are watching from home or in the bar… why not download a digital match programme? The programme contains video content as well as direct links to products and tickets – an email will be sent to you to view the programme from 12pm tomorrow. Please visit www.ulsterrugbydigital.com to register. The game will be shown live on Sky Sports 4 from 5pm.

8. Travel Update: Why not try the Bus? For only £3.50 return, you can travel to Kingspan Stadium on Translink’s exclusive - Metro Rugby Bus. The Bus departs Europa Bus Centre 60 minutes before match kick-off and picks up at Chichester Street (SS Moore, 55 minutes before kick-off) and East Bridge Street (Central Station, 50 minutes before kick-off). Park and Ride facilities are also in operation this weekend, located at Pirrie Park on the Ravenhill Road side of the ground and also on Montgomery Road along the Mount Merrion side of the ground (opposite Podium for Sport). There are plenty of car parking spaces available and free buses run constantly along these routes from 90 minutes prior to the game until 90 minutes after the final whistle. 9. Concession Update: Two new concession venues are now open at the rear of the Grandstand. The Clubhouse Kitchen is located beside Entrance Door 2 to the left of the Club House Bar and the Quarter Kitchen is located beside Entrance Door 4 to the left of the Heineken Quarter Bar. A selection of confectionery and soft drinks are available at both kitchen counters along with artisan pulled pork burgers, coffee and tray bakes.

10. Stadium Update: New speakers have now been installed in the Premium Stand and East Terrace, however there is still additional work to be done to bring this system up to the same standards as rest of stadium. This work is expected to be complete in the next few weeks.. 

The stadium NO SMOKING restriction has been extended - smoking is now prohibited within the entire stadium bowl this includes the use of e-cigarettes.

Please note that general admission to Kingspan Stadium outside of match night hours will be through the Mount Merrion Gate only from now on. This will apply to visitors to the Ticket Office and Kukri shop, who can access the gate between the current turnstiles on Mount Merrion Avenue and the Church of Ireland Church. The Sat.
