10 Things To Know Before Ulster V Connacht

Important information for those fans travelling to Ravenhill to watch Ulster v Connacht, 11th April 2014 kick off 19.05. 



1. Match Update: Tonight will be Ulster Rugby's thirteenth consecutive sell-out game at Ravenhill this season. Ulster is currently in third position in the RaboDirect PRO12 league with 60 points. Following a disappointing result last weekend the team will be looking for a win this evening to retain a top four position and continue their pursuit of silverware this season. Connacht are currently eighth in the table with 34 points. Connacht have not won at Ravenhill since November 1960 and Ulster will be looking to maintain this impressive record.

2. Ticket Update: If you purchased tickets for this game that are to be collected, the Ticket Kiosk will be open from 5.30pm and is located at the Onslow Parade gate on the Ravenhill Road side of the ground. For more ticket information you can visit the Ticket Office (located behind the Food Village in the reception of Head Office) from 5.30pm during the match and 30 minutes after the final whistle. 2014/15 Season Tickets are available to purchase from the Ticket Office.

3. Match Programme: The Ulster Rugby match programme will be on sale from 5.30pm in the stadium. The programme contains match information, player profiles, team sheets, partner competitions, local rugby news, a guest article by Rod Nawn and exclusive interviews with Iain Henderson and Paul Marshall.

5. Bar Update: Two new bars will be in operation to the rear of the Grandstand for tonight's game - the ‘Heineken Quarter Bar’ is convenient to Entrance doors 1 and 2 at the rear of the Grandstand (furthest away from Memorial Archway) and the ‘Clubhouse Bar’ is suitable for those entering via Entrance doors 3 and 4 (closest to the Memorial Archway).

6. Travel Update: Why not try the Bus this Saturday? For only £3.50 return, you can travel to Ravenhill on Translink’s exclusive - Metro Rugby Bus. The Bus departs Europa Bus Centre 60 minutes before match kick-off and picks up at Chichester Street (SS Moore, 55 minutes before) and East Bridge Street (Central Station, 50 minutes before kick-off). Park and Ride facilities are also in operation this weekend, located at Pirrie Park on the Ravenhill Road side of the ground and also on Montgomery Road along the Mount Merrion side of the ground (opposite Podium for Sport). There are plenty of car parking spaces available and free buses run constantly along these routes from 90 minutes prior to the game until 90 minutes after the final whistle.

7. RBS 6 Nations Trophy: Supporters will have the opportunity to get their photograph with the trophy either before or after the match tonight. The trophy, lifted by Paul O’Connell in Paris last month will be located in the Heineken Quarter Bar, underneath the new Grandstand. It will be on display from 17:30 until 19:00 before the game and for half an hour after the game.

Ulster players Rory Best, Andrew Trimble, Chris Henry, Dan Tuohy, Luke Marshall, Iain Henderson and Paddy Jackson all played important roles for Ireland in winning the RBS 6 Nations title.

8. Grandstand Update: Due to further work being carried out in the stadium, seating in the new Grandstand will not be in use for this fixture. The West Terrace located in front of the Grandstand can be accessed via the steps at each end of the terrace and also via two tunnels leading from the ‘Clubhouse Bar’ directly on to the terrace and via two tunnels leading from the ‘Heineken Quarter Bar’ directly on to the terrace.

9. Stadium Update: The no smoking restriction has been extended - smoking is now prohibited within the entire stadium bowl, this will include all terracing. Smoking is only permitted outside of the stadium enclosure.
