100 Days to Women's Rugby World Cup 2017

Today, Monday 1st May, marks the 100 day countdown to the Women's Rugby World Cup, which will take place in Dublin and Belfast in August.

The first of the Women’s Rugby World Cup pool games, which take place in Dublin on the 9th, 13th and 17th August, will see World Champions England meet Spain, while hosts, Ireland, get their campaign under way against Australia at 7pm that evening.

The final stages of the tournament will be held at Kingspan Stadium and Queen's Sport in Belfast on the 22nd and 26th August.

Excitement is building throughout the country as the Women’s Rugby World Cup trophy has already covered over 8,500 kilometres, visiting more than 100 clubs and schools, and with many more events to come.

Tournament organisers expect that additional tickets will soon sell out for these venues, and urged those wanting to experience the excitement of a World Cup, and watch the world’s top female rugby players, to snap up tickets as soon as possible.

Speaking of the countdown, Garrett Tubridy, Tournament Director, Women’s Rugby World Cup 2017 said

“With 100 days to go to the kick-off of the Women’s Rugby World Cup the final preparations are well under way for what is going to be a fantastic tournament and a great spectacle of women’s sport.

“The trophy tour events and festivals, which have been hosted in clubs and schools throughout the country, show the level of excitement that is out there and we are delighted to have sourced a small number of additional tickets for previously sold-out pool fixtures.  But those looking to secure tickets, should act fast.”
