Winners of remaining 2022/23 Ulster Rugby Awards to be revealed at Gala Dinner

With preparations gearing-up for the club’s first-ever black-tie Gala Dinner later this month, a highlight of the evening will be the reveal of the winners of three awards for the 2022/23 season.

First-up will be the Kukri Sports Club of the Year, with seven Ulster clubs nominated this season:

·       Ballyclare RFC

·       Ballynahinch RFC

·       Clogher Valley RFC

·       Instonians RFC

·       Monaghan RFC

·       Portadown RFC

·       Queen’s University Belfast RFC

The clubs shortlisted all demonstrated the Spirit of Rugby values of respect, inclusivity, integrity, fun and excellence throughout the season, with nominees being marked by a committee on activity throughout the 2022/23 season, including their contribution to the game of rugby in their local community and their efforts around volunteering.

The winner of the Dorrington B Faulkner (Services to Rugby) award for their contribution to the game in the province will also be revealed at the ICC Belfast on 17 August. Criteria for the shortlisting includes:

·       Going above and beyond the call of duty in volunteering for their club or team

·       Volunteers in a way that has had a long-lasting impact on their club

·       Always has a positive energy to share with the club members around them

·       Lives the Spirit of Rugby values of respect, integrity, inclusivity, fun and excellence

The Bank of Ireland Personality of the Year will also be announced on the night, which will bring together local businesses, clubs from across the province, Senior Men's and Women's players, coaches, and special guests for an evening of celebration with Cool FM’s Pete Snodden and BBC presenter Holly Hamilton hosting.
