On Saturday the 26th January Newry 2nds travelled to Ballynahinch 6ths to play a friendly game.
Newry had identified several free weekends without a scheduled fixture and wanted to pick up some game time so they contacted the Ulster Branch for support. Ballynahinch 6ths had been due to play a league game on the 25th however it was one of many postponed games as a result of the inclement weather. Both clubs were put in contact with each other and the friendly game was able to take place instead, allowing everybody to get their weekly rugby fix!!
Despite the conditions, both teams battled on and Newry ran out 5-11 winners.
The Ulster Branch would like to thank both Ballynahinch & Newry for facilitating the game and encourage any club looking to explore additional games to get in touch with their respective regional lead or a member of the admin team.
