Age-Grade Interpro Roundup

It was a tough weekend for Ulster's age-grade squads, as 4 sides were beaten in interprovincial fixtures.

The first game of the weekend saw the Deloitte Ulster U18 Girls taking on Leinster at Newforge on Saturday. The visitors proved too strong for the host province, and scored ten tries in a 66-0 victory.

On Sunday, Munster were crowned the new PWC IRFU Under-18 Boys' Schools Interprovincial champions after defeating the Danske Bank Ulster U18 Boys' Schools 38-0 in the first fixture at Musgrave Park.

This was followed by the Ulster Carpets Ulster U18 Boys' Clubs taking on their Munster counterparts.

A JF Burns penalty and a try from winger Ben Neely saw them take the lead, which was further extended with another try as Harry McKeown touched down and Burns added the conversion.

However, Munster recovered well in the second half and eventually ran out 24-18 winners.

In the final game at Musgrave Park, the Ulster U19 Men were narrowly beaten, going down 19-15 to Munster.

Captain Zac Soloman scored a try off the back of a maul to get Ulster back into the game after conceding early on. Ethan Graham scored their second try after collecting a kick from James McKillop, with Ben McFarlane adding the extras.

A penalty from McFarlane looked to have won it for Ulster, but the hosts turned it around at the death with a converted try that secured the victory.
