Ballynahinch Rfc P7 Mini Rugby Tour To Scotland

Ballynahinch RFC U11s (P7s) returned on Sunday from their mini rugby tour to Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy.

The 28 mini players played a series of six matches and left Scotland undefeated and with a huge try count.

This is especially notable due to the fact that the SRU age grades meant that the tourists were playing teams one year older than themselves and the physical size differences were obvious. The size advantage did not cause ‘Hinch Minis any concerns as their better tackling, swifter passing and cleverer lines of running ensured good defeats of all opposition, with two particularly exceptional performances against Kirkcaldy ‘wee blues’ and a very physical Lasswade RFC.

All 28 players acquitted themselves to the highest standards both on and off the pitch and were excellent ambassadors for Ballynahinch RFC and Ulster Rugby in general.

A huge vote of thanks goes to coaches Mike Mitchell, Chris Hanlon, Michael Preston and Richard Hart for organising and taking the tour and both Murrayfield Wanderers RFC and Kirkcaldy RFC for their excellent hospitality.
