The 2013-14 High Schools season came to its conclusion this week with Ballymoney HS and Ballynahinch HS competing in the final of the Ulster Carpets High Schools' U16 Plate.
Ballyclare RFC hosted the final with Ballynahinch taking the honours 32-7. The scoreline slightly flattered Ballynahinch as Ballymoney had enough of the ball however some slack defending in the first half saw the Co Down boys build a strong lead and the game was over as a contest within ten minutes of the restart. Ballymoney were rewarded for their efforts with a last minute try under the posts.
High Schools Committee rep Darren McGuigan presented the medals to both teams and thanked the schools, referee, PRO Paramedics and Ballyclare RFC for use of facilities.
