Bangor Rugby Club will host its annual Mini Rugby Floodlit Festival on Saturday 30th November, at Upritchard Park (4.30-8.00pm)
Approximately 250 P5 and P6 children (ages 8-10) will play in the festival, with teams attending from Ballyclare, Ballymena, CIYMS, Coleraine, Cooke and Lisburn Rugby Clubs.
The club is delighted to have had a number of organisations offer sponsorship for the festival: Frankie & Benny's restaurants being the headline sponsor, with secondary contributions from Lisney and Carleton Financial Planning. Donations of foodstuffs from Henderson's Spar and Conroy Hair will also ensure all players stay refreshed throughout the festival.
The event has been organised by P5 parents with help from other coaches and other volunteers from throughout the club. The offer from the senior Bangor 1st XV team to act as timekeepers/pitch co-ordinators on the night ensures that relationships between the senior and mini divisions of the club remain strong.
The festival has always been one of the highlights of the mini season as most of the children get their first opportunity to play under lights and replicate their Ulster heroes.
