Saturday 29th March was a very special day for Portadown Panthers as Rory Best paid a surprise visit to Chambers Park.
The Ulster, Ireland and British & Irish Lions hooker, accompanied by his family, helped out at a training session for the Learning Disability Tag Rugby Club.
Panthers Chairman, Willie Gribben, who has known Rory, his brother Simon (also an Ulster & Ireland player) and their dad John (whom he coached at PRFC) for many years, had invited Rory to become Portadown Panthers' Ambassador some time ago. Rory was delighted to accept and Saturday saw him make his first visit to the club to pass on a few coaching hints to the Panthers before they play in their own festival at Chambers Park next Sunday.
Panthers' Captain Murray Gilmour presented Rory with a club t-shirt.
