Branch staff attend SAFE Rugby Programme

Development staff from the Ulster Branch were the first participants in Ulster to complete the new IRFU SAFE Rugby programme (Standard Approach to Field Emergencies in Rugby) on Thursday 4th July at Malone RFC.

Established to provide emergency care training and skills to medical staff and individuals involved in rugby union, the objective of the programme is to develop medical support and deliver sports first aid training programmes to make the game as safe as possible. The training provides updated training in head and neck injuries, fracture and joint injuries, common medical emergencies, concussion, basic life support and advisory external defibrillation (AED) use.

The course will be made available to clubs over the coming months. Click here for further information.
