CD Group, Ireland's largest automotive parts distributor, has renewed its partnership with the Ulster A team, previously known as Ulster Ravens.Â
The new two-year deal will see the CD Group logo feature on the Ulster A jersey and also within Kingspan Stadium.
The Ulster A squad competes in the British & Irish Cup against Welsh, Scottish and Irish opposition, while they also contest an annual Inter-provincial Series against their counterparts from Connacht, Leinster and Munster.
Hughes Insurance Ulster Academy Forwards Coach, Alex Codling, has been confirmed as Ulster A Head Coach for the season. The ex-England international commented, “I’m delighted that CD Group has opted to continue to support the development of Ulster Rugby. The Ulster A team has helped many of our most promising players, such as Stuart McCloskey, Andrew Warwick and Peter Nelson, break through to play for the senior side. I’m looking forward to working closely with the players to ensure even more make the step up in the future."
CD Group is a family-run business that has been operating for more than 50 years and has offices in Dublin and Cork, as well as their headquarters in Mallusk.
Managing Director, Terry Knox, believes the partnership is a good fit for both organisations: “We are very proud of our heritage and are extremely thrilled to support Ulster Rugby at such an exciting stage in their development. Both brands are leaders within our respective industries and are focused on working together to achieve common business objectives. I’d like to wish Alex and the team well for the season ahead.”
The Ulster A team will have an expanded fixture schedule this season to give players the chance to consistently play at a high level, starting with a home game against Connacht at Deramore Park on Saturday 10th October.
The first British & Irish Cup fixture will take place at Kingspan Stadium, against Bristol, on Friday 13th November (kick off 7.30pm). Tickets for this fixture can be purchased by clicking here, and are priced at £10 for adults and £3 for children. Tickets are also available in the Premium Stand priced at £20.
