REARRANGED OYONNAX FIXTURE
EPCR has today announced that the six European club matches which were postponed due to the Paris attacks, have been rescheduled for the second weekend of January 2016.
This means Ulster’s Champions Cup game against Oyonnax will now be played at Stade Charles Mathon on 8th-10th January, in advance of their round 5 trip to face Saracens.
The exact dates, kick-off times and television coverage of the fixture will be announced by EPCR as soon as possible.
As a result, Ulster’s home Guinness PRO12 match against Newport Gwent Dragons, which was scheduled for Friday 8th January, will now be played later in the season. The new date for this fixture will be confirmed by PRO12 Rugby as soon as possible.
GUINNESS PRO12 CONFIRMS FIXTURE SCHEDULE FOR ROUNDS 13-17
Tournament organisers have announced the fixture schedule for rounds 13 to 17 of the 2015/16 Guinness PRO12 season.
Ulster’s round 13 fixture against Benetton Treviso at Stadio Monigo will be played on Saturday 30th January (kick off 5.30pm local time), following the conclusion of the Champions Cup pool stages.
Les Kiss and his players will then face a stern challenge on Friday 12th February, when reigning PRO12 champions, Glasgow Warriors, are the visitors to Kingspan Stadium for a game that will be broadcast live on Sky Sports (kick off 7.30pm).
PRO12 Rugby has given Ulster a second consecutive home tie, with Welsh side Scarlets visiting Belfast on Sunday 21st February (kick off 2.30pm). Following on from the successful family-themed fixture against Treviso at Kingspan Stadium in October, the Scarlets game will be another opportunity for families to enjoy an early kick off, with a range of activities lined up for supporters of all ages.
Ulster are on the road again in round 16, with a game versus Cardiff Blues on Sunday 28th February, before returning to Kingspan Stadium to host Zebre on Friday 4th March (7.35pm kick off).
Tickets for these home fixtures will go on general sale from Monday 14th December, however a priority booking for season ticket holders will be open before then.
Scarlets fixture on Sunday 21st February 2016
Along with the other PRO12 clubs, Ulster Rugby signed a participation agreement that requires them to play on scheduled fixture dates. These decisions are taken by the tournament organisers in conjunction with the broadcasters from the respective countries and Ulster Rugby is mindful of the complexities of scheduling when four countries, 12 teams and multiple broadcasters are involved.
Ulster Rugby is known for its Friday night matches and we state our preference for Friday night fixtures to the PRO12 tournament organisers before the start of each season. We have also stated our wish not to play on Sundays, however, on this occasion, Ulster Rugby has been directed to play on Sunday 21st February 2016.
