Club seminars on raising income are a huge hit

Ulster Rugby, Ulster GAA and the Irish FA continue their partnership with best practice seminars on increasing Club income.

Club volunteers from rugby, GAA and football attended jointly hosted seminars which delved into ways in which to increase club fundraising potential.

Two events were held; in Lurgan Town FC on Monday 19th October, and in City of Derry RFC on Wednesday 21st October.

Three workshops were delivered at each, focusing on the importance of social media, how to attract club sponsorship and club fundraising activities and events. Club case studies gave testimony of how to utilise social media to maximise income through fundraising and sponsorship.

The seminar was very positively received with clubs already thinking about how they can implement some of what they have heard. Lurgan RFC commented, “We would just like to thank all the contributors on behalf of the club for the fantastic event. It has totally changed our outlook on what is achievable at our club and gave us great ideas. The next step is to try to implement them.”

The seminars were held as part of the DSD-funded programme ‘Sport; A Home for Lifelong Volunteering Programme’.
