Limavady, Portadown and Clogher Valley were among a number of clubs to host Halloween Camps for their youth and mini rugby players.
Limavady Host Halloween Camp
Limavady Club & Community Rugby Officer (CCRO) Peter Wilson hosted a Halloween Camp for U12 and U14 boys at the club on Thursday 30th October.
Peter has been delivering contact rugby sessions in Limavady HS, St. Mary’s and Limavady GS since September with the view of re-establishing youth rugby at the John Hunter Memorial grounds. The idea of the camp was to maintain continuity of training during the half term holidays.
The camp was a great success and provides good momentum for the players and Peter moving into the second block of coaching with the schools.
Portadown RFC Halloween Camp
Portadown RFC CCRO William Clint recently organised a two day rugby camp at the club during the Halloween mid-term break. The camp catered for both boys from P6 & P7, as well as a Year 8 group.
On day one of the camp the players and coaches received a visit from Paul Heasley, Ulster Rugby’s Fitness Development Coach in the Southern region, who delivered age appropriate strength & conditioning sessions to the enthusiastic groups involved.
Clogher Valley Halloween Camp
Clogher Valley CCRO Joe Stafford organised a two day rugby camp at the club during the Halloween mid-term break. The camp was organised for boys in the U12, U14 and U16 age groups, as well as girls from the female U15 team.
The rugby content was supplemented by age appropriate strength & conditioning sessions delivered by Paul Heasley.
